About The Project

The Linux desktop scene has been considered unpolished in the eyes of the average macOS or Windows user for ages. Trivial things to such users are simply unavailable to them on Linux, at least not by default. Utile is all about minimal friction.

Some of this is caused by accumulated power-user assumptions or 'optimal' design decisions that only fit experienced users, who represent just sub-communities within the 5% of desktop-using humanity that is the Linux desktop community. Suffice to say that their preferences don't represent those of the 95% on other systems.

This project aims to reduce friction and increase the intuitiveness of the Linux desktop experience. It is my attempt at creating a more user-friendly Linux desktop experience (as much as I can).

Utile OS lockup

Supported architectures: x86_64 (AMD/Intel).

Please consider buying me a coffee and contributing to the project.
